1. Introduction
Welcome to RoofAware (“RoofAware,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you use our websites, forms, landing pages, emails, and related services (the “Services”). By using the Services, you consent to the practices described here.
2. Who we are & what we do
RoofAware is a community awareness initiative focused on homeowner education about roof health. At your request, we connect you with independent, vetted local partners for inspections or estimates. We are not a roofing contractor and do not perform repair, maintenance, or installation work.
3. Information we collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Information you provide: name, email, phone, street address, city/state/ZIP, roof age/concerns, scheduling preferences, and messages you send us.
- Automatically collected: device/browser data, IP address, approximate location, pages viewed, referring/exit pages, UTM parameters, advertising click IDs (e.g., Facebook), and cookie identifiers. See Cookies & tracking.
- From partners: appointment confirmations, inspection status, and completion notes where needed to fulfill your request.
Please avoid submitting sensitive information (e.g., financial account numbers, precise geolocation, medical diagnoses). We do not intentionally collect such data.
4. How we use information
- Provide and improve the Services, including evaluating requests and coordinating with partners at your direction.
- Communicate with you (confirmations, scheduling, reminders, educational materials, updates).
- Personalize content and measure the effectiveness of campaigns.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, security, and technical issues; comply with legal obligations.
- Send marketing communications if you opt in (you may unsubscribe at any time).
5. How we share information
- Service providers that host our sites, process forms, send communications, store data, or provide analytics.
- Independent local partners to schedule inspections/estimates when you request a connection. Partners operate under their own terms and privacy policies.
- Advertising & analytics partners for measurement, attribution, and campaign improvement (see Cookies & tracking).
- Legal/safety where required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights and safety.
- Business transfers related to mergers, acquisitions, or asset sales.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Some state laws define “sell” or “share” to include certain advertising/analytics uses of identifiers and browsing activity; see your opt-out choices below.
6. Cookies & tracking
We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, analyze traffic, and measure advertising (including UTM tracking and advertising pixels). You can control cookies via your browser settings and platform controls (e.g., Facebook Ad Preferences). Opt-outs are browser and device specific.
7. Calls, texts & emails
By submitting your contact information, you consent to receive calls, texts, and emails related to your request from RoofAware and, when needed to schedule, independent partners. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out of marketing texts at any time by replying STOP; we may still send transactional messages about active requests.
8. Data retention
We retain information as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify information.
9. Your choices & controls
- Emails: use the unsubscribe link in any message.
- Texts: reply STOP to opt out.
- Cookies/ads: adjust browser settings and platform ad preferences; some jurisdictions support Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals.
- Access/Deletion/Correction: contact us (see Contact) to submit a request. We may need to verify your identity.
10. State privacy rights
Depending on your state, you may have rights to access, delete, correct, or receive a portable copy of your information, and to opt out of targeted advertising (“sharing”), certain sales, or profiling. To exercise rights, contact us (see Contact). We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
11. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Children’s privacy
The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided information to us, please contact us so we can delete it.
13. International transfers
We operate in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., your information may be processed in the U.S., which may have different data-protection laws than your jurisdiction.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated version and update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect signifies acceptance.
